With FISERV's new Clover Gateway eCommerce solution, you can easily accept payments online. You can access the Clover Gateway through three solutions: Virtual Terminal, Web Service API, or Connect.
For online merchants, FISERV Clover Gateway is ideal as it is already integrated with most major shopping cart software. If you are using a shopping cart application, most of the work has already been done for you. Set-up is as easy as entering your Merchant ID number. Check with your shopping cart software vendor to ensure that they have integrated the FISERV Clover Gateway.
FD Clover Gateway is a payment gateway. It comes free with a FISERV merchant account. Use of other third party gateways will cost extra; however, they frequently offer more services.

Virtual Terminal
The Clover Virtual Terminal is an online payment application that allows you to accept credit cards and other payment types using your PC. The Virtual Terminal also acts as your Clover Gateway account management application and allows you to view gateway processing reports, edit fraud settings, manage users, and more.
Virtual Terminal is a portal included with all versions of the FISERV Clover Gateway. This site includes a virtual terminal that allows transactions to be manually entered and processed. The virtual terminal is a web-based application that allows an unlimited number of simultaneous users. This product is ideal for mail or phone order businesses.
Web Service API
The FISERV Clover Web Service API is an Application Programming Interface, which allows you to connect your application with the FISERV Clover Gateway. Using the Web Service API, you can seamlessly accept credit card and check payments in your application.
The FISERV Clover Gateway Web Service API is a SOAP-based web service. Some of the advantages of offering integration using a web service include:
- Platform Independence – Any application that can send and receive SOAP messages
can communicate with the Web Service API. Because the Web Service API is built using
open standards, you can choose any technology that suits your needs (e.g. J2EE, .NET,
PHP, ASP, etc.) for integrating with the FISERV Clover Gateway. - Ease of Integration – The application builds a SOAP request message which encodes your transaction, sends it via HTTPS to the web service, and waits for a SOAP response message. The response contains your transaction‟s status. Since SOAP and HTTPS are designed to be lightweight protocols, building requests and parsing responses is a straightforward. Furthermore, rarely do you have to do this manually, since there are a number of libraries available in various technologies. Building a SOAP request and handling the response is reduced to a few lines of code,
- Security – All communication between your application and FISERV Clover Gateway Web Service API is SSL-encrypted. Your application has a client certificate, which identifies it uniquely with the web service. The Web Service API holds a server certificate, which your application checks to ensure that it is communicating with the Web Service API. The Web Service also requires HTTP basic authorization (user name and password) in order to communicate with the web service. These security mechanisms guarantee that the transaction data sent to FISERV Clover Gateway Web Service API stays private and is available only to your application.
Connect 2.0
The FISERV Clover Gateway Connect 2.0 secure payment gateway is capable of securely receiving, storing, processing, and sending online transactions to a bank card processor or financial institution.
Data is encrypted by the secure payment gateway through protocols that ensure the security and privacy of the data. The purpose of FISERV Clover Gateway Connect 2.0 is to quickly and easily link you to the secure payment gateway. FISERV is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the entire secure payment gateway system.
